The Software Test Engineer-System Integration (STE-SI) role supports and empowers the business and technology mission of CardConnect.  Specifically, the STE-SI will design, implement, execute and report on tests that exercise specific system aspects during development sprints or projects. It is expected that these tests will include considerable automation that can be integrated into the overall build and deployment process.   As CardConnect grows, integration of our applications and systems with both internal and external business partners will be critical to long term success.  This role will be focusing on integration of our applications and systems with the specific testing challenges that arise.

We believe testing is a unique skill that requires a dedication to acquiring knowledge about our systems, and then applying that system knowledge to the testing process.  We commit to a well-structured onboarding and ramp-up for new hires that clearly presents how we work and what is their expected role and contribution.  We expect successful candidates to invest in their own professional growth through taking on challenging testing assignments that will benefit our organization and their careers.


Work with Cross-Functional Team (CFT) and Practice Lead to review requirements and other project documentation for completeness and testability given project scope and timeline, identifying and communicating any risks or issues
Develop, implement and execute appropriate tests within established project schedules so that an understanding of deliverable quality can be established through consultation with CFT and Practice Lead; pair testing with peers involved with internal or external business partners as needed
Contribute to overall team automation in testing approach by integrating automated tests into build and deployment process with collaboration between CFT’s as needed
Communicate and document testing progress, results and other relevant information regarding the testing of applications to peers, leaders and CFT
Maintain testing and other relevant project-related documentation in response to ongoing improvement and evolution of products over time
Investigate and experiment with testing tools and techniques that can enhance or improve existing test approach. Recommend improvements to CFT and Practice Lead.
Establish subject matter and system knowledge regarding payment card processing and merchant lifecycle business logic and how these domains are realized in the systems that we test
Perform testing of integrated systems; focusing on requirements verification of transaction details
Contribute to overall team automation in testing approach by integrating automated tests into build and deployment process with collaboration between CFT’s as needed


Demonstrated experience with orchestrated Web Services testing of REST/JSON and SSL-related systems using tools like POSTman and ReadyAPI, with data validation using DB Visualizer and SQL commands
Able to troubleshoot technical issues from testing activities through assembling concise, complete and actionable defect reports and status updates
Knowledge of Continuous Integration Frameworks such as Jenkins and GoCD
Established application of critical and systems thinking to the detailed testing of business systems
Background in process development and implementation regarding test automation
Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems
Exposure to java development tools and processes (Eclipse, IntelliJ) through prior project work
Knowledge of testing financial services-based systems from an information security perspective is a plus


Software testing professional that contributes to a high level of credibility within the testing team
