What does a fantastic Technical Solutions Consultant do?

As a Technical Solutions Consultant within the Institutional Sales group, you will provide enterprise – level sales consultation with clients to proactively drive value-based technical solutions and capabilities during the sales process. Success in this role will help to boost competition displacement on strategic sales engagements. You will also have the ability to influence product development leadership on the enterprise-level innovation road map strategy. Through thought-leadership, technical-excellence, and knowledge of complex solutions encompassing multiple products and services, you are driving the overall success of Fiserv.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Provide technical sales support for complex, strategic, international, commercial mid-market, and enterprise-level sales opportunities across sales verticals
  • Obtain/maintain a detailed level of knowledge of existing (and in-development) enterprise solutions, products, and services
  • Participate in client discovery sessions to identify and document customer existing processes, pain points, and strategies
  • Facilitate internal and external technical discussions between product, platform specialists, sales, and partners to define and enhance solutions that span across the firm
  • Examine and interpret platform specifications to address client requirements
  • Review and confirm proposed solutions to ensure client technical requirements are aligned
  • Reduce time to revenue by providing quality handoff to onboarding and service resources
  • Provide technical solution input for client RFPs/RFIs
  • Engage with sales to monitor industry trends and track deal involvement

  • Is experience analyzing and interpreting technical requirements and defining the appropriate proposed solutions.
  • Is well-organized, results oriented, flexible and has a willingness to grow professionally.
  • Has strong analytical skills, adaptable and has the ability adjust to atypical issues/opportunities.
  • Is experienced in interacting with customers at all levels along with appropriate representatives to analyze, validate, specify, verify and document business strategy.
  • Is accustomed to working under high levels of accountability and measurable performance without detailed direction or guidance.
  • Can handle extremely confidential information professionally and capable of exercising good independent judgement

Basic qualifications for consideration:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in technical support, implementation, and/or product development with strong consultative and strategic sales support skill sets.
  • 3+ years of experience in electronic payments services and technology solutions. Familiar with functions of hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak to a spectrum of innovative solutions to shared Merchant/Issuer business needs and emerging market trend


  • Ability to travel 30%
