As a product marketer, a lot of my responsibility is around the go-to-market activities of a new or existing product. Our goal is to increase awareness of the product; make sure that we’re educating our clients about the value, why they should get it, how is it going to help their end-users. We attend tradeshows, produce collateral, brochures, PowerPoints and anything we need to enable our sales team to talk to clients about our products. What does a great Training Specialist do?

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Design and develop training courses for new product and service offerings
  • Collaborate with internal partners and subject matter experts (SME’s) to ensure that course materials and training courses reflect current product features and organizational processes
  • Maintain strong interaction with SME’s to ensure course material and training courses are up to date
  • Incorporate adult learning principles (learning needs/ styles, etc) in all material and activity development
  • Instruct participants in both: classroom lecture and distance learning
  • Provide customizes training to meet organizational requirements
  • Lead process and procedural documentation efforts
  • Develop and maintain a centralized repository of training and support documentation for supported systems, applications, processes and procedures
  • Develop and conduct training program for new associates, and support the overall associate onboarding process
  • Develop and conduct continued training plans for existing associates
  • Document and train changes in products, processes, procedures, applications, etc
  • Conduct periodic soft skills and customer service- related courses, emphasizing on client experience
  • Ensure training and supporting material for new products and features, as well as quarterly releases is made available to associates
  • Oversee and manage support initiatives, including SWARM and Knowledge Management

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Experience with delivery of employee job skills
  • Experience writing procedures and/ or documentation
  • Knowledge in education analysis, job function analysis, task analysis, and audience analysis
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize projects and tasks
  • Computer proficient, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and SharePoint
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong sense gf urgency and accountability
  • Must be able to work independently and perform under limited supervision
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Banking industry, content knowledge, and credit processing knowledge preferred
  • Experience using instructional design methodology

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Three years of experience in associate or client training  
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience writing procedures
  • Experience using instructional design methodology
  • Knowledge of e-learning software, SharePoint, and repository databases
