What does a great Software Developer do at Fiserv?


As a Software Developer, you will follow the SDLC processes established by Fiserv and will be responsible for completing assigned tasks such as requirements review and discovery, technical design, and coding.  You will be working on a B2B payment application that is developed in-house and hosted in the cloud. You will be working in a team environment spanning different time zones. You will be part of a Fortune 500 company; but will also have the benefit of working on a small team. You will be asked to provide new development work while also maintaining and troubleshooting previously released features. You will gain technical, troubleshooting, leadership and client service experience as a member of a team that builds and supports B2B payment application.

As a Software Developer you can expect to:
•    Perform general application development activities, including write code, code reviews, tests, and contributing to performance testing.
•    Works independently to support software through the entire software development lifecycle.
•    Diagnose and resolve performance issues.
•    Participates in estimation process, use case specifications, reviews of test plans and test cases, requirements, and project planning.
•    Document code/processes so that any other developer can dive in with minimal effort.
•    Work to automate repetitive processes


Basic skills for consideration:
•    3-5 years of MVC C#.Net, Entity Framework and LINQ software development experience
•    UI development experience (HTML5, CSS3+, JQuery, JavaScript) in responsive design supporting major browsers
•    4-year college degree in relevant discipline
•    Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
•    Good time-management skills
•    Great interpersonal and communication skills
•    Ability to work in a distributed team environment


Functional Area Skills/Knowledge:
•    Experience with Agile Methodology (Scrum) and associated tools such as JIRA/Confluence
•    Disciplined approach to development including quality, testing, and documentation
•    Influence, challenge, and defend technology decisions, not just execute static requirements


Preferred Skills for consideration:
•    UI/UX Design Experience
•    API development using JSON
•    MS SQL database
•     XML, SOAP, JSON
•    Postman Tool
Nice to have Skills for consideration:
•    Angular JS/React JS
•    SOAP UI and Insomnia Tool
