Windows Engineer, Senior
What does a successful Windows Engineer, Senior do at Fiserv?
You will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
What you will do:
You will be building and supporting on-premise & cloud systems (VM’s / Physical servers) for the Transformation & Modernization Engineering iCTO Team. Responsibliities include:
Engineer Windows system solutions for various project and operational needs.
Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Contribute to and maintain system standards.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
Provide Tier III/other support per request from various stakeholders. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Apply OS patches and upgrades, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent job related experience.
5 or more years of experience in the following areas: vSphere, VMWare virtualization software including ESX 6.7, SAN Administration, Active Directory administration including GPO design and implementation & MS Windows-based servers
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, HTTPS).
What would be great to have:
ITIL Foundations certification preferred
MCSA/MCSE certification preferred
Azure or AWS deployment experience
Experienced in Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Templates
Experienced in managing the lifecycle of IaaS VMs - troubleshoot VM boot issues, Backup/Restore VM and Disks (Snapshot and Recovery Vault), Imaging, Resizing and Scaling VMs
Experienced with AWS management (EC2, SNS/SQS, RDS) or willingness to learn
