Lead Software Development Engineer

What does a successful Lead Software Development Engineer do at Fiserv?

As a Lead Software Development Engineer, you will be part of The Carat B2B Enterprise Products team. This team delivers solutions that enable large and mid-sized B2B sellers to digitize their business payments management. Our leading product, SnapPay, directly integrates with our clients’ ERPs/e-commerce platforms and automates payments and financial workflows that otherwise cost clients significant time and manual effort. You'll be pivotal, spearheading the development of both existing and new product functionalities. From shaping our multi-year roadmap to collaborating with cross-functional teams, your leadership will drive our success in the market.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product, sales, and engineering) to define and evolve our multi-year product roadmap
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and create and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, architecture diagrams, and API documentation
  • Leverage your expertise in web development using .NET technologies (such as ASP.NET, C#, and related frameworks) and SQL database to contribute directly to the codebase. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in web development
  • Lead and manage project teams, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget
  • Identify opportunities for new use cases and features that enhance product functionality
  • Develop prototypes for proposed systems, showcasing the feasibility and value of new features and present the prototypes to stakeholders
  • Create comprehensive design documents that outline technical specifications, architecture, and implementation plans
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading software development teams and development engineering talent
  • 7 years experience in Software Development experience using Microsoft technologies (.Net, SQL, Azure) and tools (DevOps)
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new features and functionality; and translate into technical requirements and development plans - May be single point of contact

What would be great to have:

  • Hands on experience in handling client data PII in cloud platform (Azure, Snowflake, AWS or Google cloud)
  • Experience in UI/UX design, reporting/dashboarding/data retrieval preferred
  • Comfort with technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues with payment processing systems
  • Clear and effective communication
