Director of Software Engineering

What does a successful Director of Software Engineering do at Fiserv?

  • You'll be a key leader of success in of our Core Acquiring Front End engineering group within Fiserv’s Global Business Solutions (Payment Acceptance) business.
  • You'll be a hands-on engineering leader responsible for mission critical platforms that support our payments acquiring business
  • In this fast-paced online transaction processing environment, you'll be a passionate critical problem-solver who can balance platform stability and resiliency along with modern engineering practices and solutions.

What you will do:

  • Lead engineering responsibilities for a key front-end acquiring OLTP platform with hands-on development and support duties (C, AIX stack).
  • Design, build, and support resilient services and solutions.
  • Partner with business owners to define platform roadmaps and scope for initiatives and features.
  • Drive prioritization of technical investment on in-scope platforms.
  • Design performant, efficient, effective, and reusable technical solutions (partnering with architecture).
  • Partner effectively with DevOps, Production Support, and peer platform teams to deliver on business goals and client expectations.

What you will need to have:

  • 10-15 years of hands-on experience in software engineering roles
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams of engineers
  • 3+ years of experience working with payments processing or OLTP (online transaction processing) applications

What would be great to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in C and C++ programming
  • Experience building on AIX, UNIX, or LINUX platforms
  • Experience working with Payment Networks (VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, Debit, etc.)
  • Experience building solutions in public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
