What does an outstanding Senior Salesforce Developer do?

As a Senior Salesforce Developer, you will be accountable for developing solutions on our enterprise Salesforce CRM platform to an organization of 3,000 marketing, finance, sales, and relationship management professionals. Expectations include web application development experience with understanding of risk management & application security.

You will report to and work with the Solutions Architect to design efficient, best-in-class solutions that scale, oversee and mentor developers, review code, champion best practice, aid in process improvements and identify ways to reduce technical debt.

Partner with Release/Project Manager and Business Analysts to understand deliverables, collaborate with support and training departments to resolve production issues and be an integral part in developing new features. Champion enterprise initiatives and standards and implement solutions to improve system reliability.

This role requires strong communication skills to ensure quality deliveries from a distributed program and business group environment. The Senior Salesforce Developer will utilize their experience to make hard decisions, implement development best practices and complete projects on time.

You can look forward to: 

  • Working with solutions architects, release/project managers, business analysts and developers across various disciplines to ensure the right plan, design and solution is developed
  • Coding, configuring, unit testing, reviewing code and creating supporting documentation for application development tasks
  • Coaching and mentoring junior developers
  • Identifying and executing ideas to reduce technical debt
  • Being able to effectively communicate and present best practices to improve processes and productivity, and make recommendations
  • Providing support for Salesforce environments including incident management and resolution
  • Remaining current on new and emerging Salesforce.com and Cloud Computing technologies

Basic qualifications for consideration:

  • 10+ years of experience in application development
  • 5+ years of development experience on Salesforce’s Force.com platform
  • Development experience with multiple CRM technologies

Additional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Possess working knowledge of the Salesforce.com (SFDC) platform and understanding of current native functionality
  • Proven track record of successful cross-team/group collaboration to drive necessary processes and ensure product reliability/stability
  • Strong technical & process development skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding in HTML, XML, JavaScript, SQL, SOQL, Java, APEX, Visualforce, Lightning Web and Aura Components, SOAP/REST-based web services, JSON and Javascript libraries (Bootstrap, AngularJS, ReactJS etc.)
  • Experience writing triggers, batch processes, unit tests on the Force.com platform
  • Understanding of the Salesforce API and how to consume web services
  • Understand SDLC using Agile development practices
  • Working knowledge of source control (GIT, SVN, etc.)
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines to promote and test Salesforce deployments
  • Experience using the VS Code and Salesforce Data Loader
  • Understanding of relational databases as well as file data stores (CSV, XML, JSON, etc.)
  • Excels in a team environment; Able to work independently with minimal supervision, coach and mentor teammates as required
  • Effective communication with all levels externally and within an organization
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; detail, task and result oriented with a focus on delivery
  • Handles multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
