What does a great Engagement Director do?

You will align the delivery organization to the sales process and ensure our ability to deliver throughout the entire implementation life cycle on either large, complex, engagements (in excess of $10M) or a set of projects for a specific client.

This role will give you the opportunity to exercise your program management knowledge, your experience with large multi-product implementations and software development, relationship management, consulting and process improvement/organizational change, which empowers you as a leader to deliver on the promise of One Fiserv.

  • You'll formulate, gain alignment, and execute on program approach, end state vision and roadmap for the program.
  • Build and foster client relationships as a single point of contact during implementation to build referenceable clients.
  • Align the sales proposal, client expectations, Contract, Finance, and scope to ensure the solution is effectively understood by all parties.
  • Support the transition from sales to delivery and from delivery to operational support.
  • Establish mechanisms to set expectations and ensure on-going control of the program Governance, Communication Plan; and Project/Program Management.
  • Champion the Enterprise Solution Delivery (ESD) process and the effective utilization of standard methodologies in the field through coaching and mentoring to ensure methodology and approach are consistently implemented across the business. Additionally, provide recommended improvements.

Basic qualifications for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business
  • 7+ years leading large-scale delivery programs including development and integration.
  • 12 years of project management experience with at least 5 years of program management experience delivering large complex programs (portfolio of projects) with multiple project tracks.
  • 5 years of experience in custom software product development, systems integration, and/or software implementation services.
  • 5+ years of client facing consulting / professional services experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with a distributed team environment; matrix management of cross-functional processes and teams.
  • Expertise with MS Visio and Project Management tools.

Travel Required:

  • 50% to client site, incremental for internal meetings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) awareness.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, and/or software industries desired.
  • Six Sigma training
  • Fiserv experience a plus.
  • Process management/improvement in the area of solution/implementation delivery methodologies

Fiserv's Enterprise Delivery Organization (EDO) is responsible for aligning the delivery of large, multi-product engagements and portfolios of projects crossing multiple business areas. As an Engagement Manager you are involved from sales proposal through implementation including software development, data conversion and product customization. You play a critical leadership role and serve as a central point of contact both internally and externally. In addition, you are the executive level communicator, representing Fiserv to our Client throughout the program lifecycle.
