As a Sr. Commercial Counsel with in our Digital Payments Solutions group, you will provide first level commercial and other legal-related support including contract preparation and negotiation in support of sales executives and client account managers. Additionally, you will support negotiating vendor and other related agreements; providing counsel to sales, account management, product, implementation, and technology leaders on legal matters; and liaising with company specialists regarding intellectual property, technology, privacy, security, regulatory, employment, and litigation matters.

What you will do:

• Work directly with business unit leaders to prepare and negotiate client, vendor and other technology-related and commercial agreements for the Fiserv Biller Solutions business.

• Advise business stakeholders on legal, contractual and risk matters impacting their areas of responsibility.

• Provide consultation and legal advice with respect to strategic initiatives, technology projects, customer and vendor contracts, intellectual property, dispute resolution, regulatory matters, corporate policies and procedures, and administration.

• Effectively interact with corporate specialists regarding finance, audit, tax, publicity/press, intellectual property (including patent applications), litigation, regulatory, privacy and technology matters that affect the business divisions.

• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and applicable legislation affecting the operations of the business divisions.

• Develop and maintain forms of contracts and other legal documentation.

What you will need to have:

• 5+ years of relevant experience either in-house or with a firm

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in an extremely fast-paced environment, be extremely organized and have an eye for detail.

• Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to provide sound solutions to our clients.

• Demonstrated ability to identify risks and provide effective solutions to stakeholders.

• JD from accredited law school

• Licensed to practice, or ability to become licensed to practice, in appropriate jurisdiction

• In good standing with State Bar with no disciplinary record

• Up to 10% travel

What would be great to have:

• Background in financial services industry or technology, business-minded orientation with a genuine interest in learning, understanding and contributing to the strategic direction of the business.

• Strong knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to corporations in general, specifically technology services and software licensing companies.

• Strong project management skills.
