What does a great Sr Business Analyst do?

We are looking for a detail-oriented problem solver who has a track record of strategically building data visualization tools and conducting in-depth analyses for an executive audience.  In addition, our ideal candidate will be passionate about systematically finding creative approaches to bridge the gap most effectively between data and decision makers.

Serve as a bridge between decision-makers and the data needed to provide actionable insights

Collaborate with product, engineering, and operational teams to proactively gather requirements, develop metrics, instrument features, and deploy monitoring tools to measure product performance

Conduct in-depth analyses using statistical techniques to uncover insights into the factors that drive product performance

Lead efforts to improve data literacy and fluency within the company by contributing to data warehouse development, technical documentation, and training teams to become self-sufficient in data exploration and analysis

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

Industry experience providing analytical services to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds

Hands-on experience building and iterating on self-serve, data visualization tools

Working knowledge or experience in data collection, transformation, and storage

Strong self-starter

Collaborative, team player who can thrive in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing, ambiguous requirements Required Skills, Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, Analytics, Business Intelligence, or any other relevant field).
Minimum 5+ years of experience in similar position or analytics role in finance / marketing
Extensive knowledge of data analysis techniques, languages, software and visualization tools (SAS, R, Matlab, Python, SPSS, Tableau, MS Power BI)
Extensive knowledge in SQL (or a SQL-like language) required
Demonstrated ability to formulate the business problem, propose hypothesis, perform analysis, and translate insights from analysis into strategic business recommendations
Ability to present findings on complex topics, recommendations or questions to executive stakeholders and team members at multiple levels
Experience navigating a matrixed organization and working effectively across business units and functions to facilitate data acquisition requirements
Proficiency with market opportunity analysis, statistical analysis, segmentation, profiling, CRM (Salesforce) and highly developed critical thinking skills
Previous experience collaborating with technology partners to standardize and normalize multiple, disparate, data sources including databases, flat data files and web-based APIs
A background in marketplace, competitive, product and customer analytics
