Responsibilities of a great Senior Software QA Engineer:

  • Develop Solution level test plan, scenarios, and test cases from product requirements and design documents

  • Strong knowledge around quality engineering principles, ability to come up with test strategy and test design for complex software products on scaling and performance

  • Executing the end-to-end cases in the complex solution testbeds, identifying the product behavioral defects, debugging and troubleshooting identified issues.

  • Automate the test scripts and execute sanity and regression cases through continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools.

  • Follow quality control processes according to the industry standard practices

  • Identify and document software defects in a clear manner, and retest resolved defects in a timely manner

  • Take initiative and work independently to meet organizational priorities

  • Be a team player in a global team that works round the clock to meet customer needs

  • Assertive communication and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders to take the right decisions

  • Collaborate with the product, business analysist and infrastructure team for understating the application flow to be installed in a multi-tier solution infrastructure.

  • Presenting demo and training the implementation, support and managed services teams

  • Working cross functionally in an Agile/Scrum environment along with product management and development to deliver high quality solutions


Requirements of a Senior Software QA Engineer:

  • 8+ yrs. experience in Quality Assurance

  • Design, write and execute end-to-end Test Cases to test Application on functional and non-functional area based on product requirements and customer use cases.

  • Knowledge to test on the enterprise level multi-tier application infrastructure with on-prem virtualization and AWS cloud deployment model

  • Knowledge on Banking or payment domain

  • Understanding on AWS Services – EC2, ECS, VPC, NLB, ALB, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, S3 and RDS

  • Skilled to work on RHEL Linux, Jboss, Android & iOS testing

  • Skilled to work on Oracle 12C and writing SQL query’s

  • Good debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience in testing on client-server architecture with networking concepts

  • Experience in CI/CD, bug tracking, repository and test management interfaces like Jenkins, Jira, GIT, TestRail or other test management tools

  • Experience in tools like Fiddler, Charles and Browser Developer tools

  • Good understanding of testing best practices and STLC

  • Exposure to Agile development process with sprint planning and retrospectives

  • Good analytical skills, self-driven and good interpersonal skills to work with different teams

  • Experience in scripting and automation using Java, selenium and Fitnesse

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
