What does a successful Senior Software Developer – Core Application do?
The Senior Software Developer will be working in an application design and development role on the Core-as-a-Service platform. The Senior Developer will be designing new software and core banking features to support banking and financial institution services.
What you will do:
- Design and develop strategic core financial features generating RESTful API using Golang
- Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to translate financial core features and requirements into workable designs for your associated development team
- Review, qualify, and update software development practices such as unit testing approaches
- Leverage exceptional communication skills to collaborate with on-site and remote colleagues
- Provide thought leadership on application architecture and design by mentoring and assisting junior developers
- Prepare technical documentation as needed to convey your designs to technical and non-technical resources
- Provide and accept technical and functional guidance throughout projects
- Lead design reviews of your proposed solutions with internal and external stakeholders
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent discipline required. Comparable work experience will be considered
- 5+ years of proven software development experience with high-level programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, C++, C#, Java, Javascript, Ruby)
- 2+ years leading development or cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and meeting release schedules
- 2+ years of experience with Agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
- Familiarity with core banking processes, architecture, and software
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in financial technology, financial services, or associated financial industries
- Good understanding of enterprise integration and SOLID design patterns
- Ability to prioritize backlog items relative to project needs and execute on time-sensitive project deliverables
- Strong critical thinking and research strategies to augment existing codebases
- Experience with version control systems such as GIT and associated code repositories
- Understanding of SaaS and PaaS delivery model architectures and value propositions
- Openness to feedback from code reviews and design direction from senior developers
What would be nice to have:
- Familiarity with Golang is a plus
- Experience with associated development and documentation applications such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Visio, and Lucid Charts
- Experience translating monolith applications into RESTful microservices
