As a product marketer, a lot of my responsibility is around the go-to-market activities of a new or existing product. What does a great Data Center Technical Support, Staff do?

This Technical Support role will provide advanced level technical leadership and support in Fiserv’s Mission Critical Data Centers. In this role you will be expected to maximize DC Ops customer facing support model across the enterprise by providing strategic direction and performing tactical implementation of IT solutions in accordance to Fiserv DC Ops program standards. This role will also provide value by composing documentation and regular process updates based on Manager and Director feedback.

As a Data Center Technical Support, Staff, you can look forward to:

  • Provide support in resolving layer 1 IT hardware issues.
  • Installation planning, problem determination, IT Cabling Infrastructure for distributed, storage and mainframe platforms.
  • Install low-voltage communication cable ( Fiber – Cat 6 ), IT Hardware and peripherals
  • Perform routine production and non-production administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IT Hardware as well as provide critical issue level support to remote offices
  • Translate project requirements and lead implementation services to other internal IT teams
  • Run small to medium size projects, build project implementation plans, communicate and coordinate with internal and external resources as needed
  • Work with members of the Enterprise Technology Group team and the extended IT organization to implement and support numerous internal and customer facing SaaS applications
  • Identify data center operational risks and propose alternative solutions
  • Build technical documentation for infrastructure solutions, policies, and operating procedures
  • Work closely with product managers to understand product roadmaps, and recommend solutions to address future business requirements
  • Utilize your knowledge of Data Center best practices and procedures.
  • Participate with a team-oriented outlook and be skilled in working within a collaborative environment.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 5 year’s experience working in a 24x7 -365 production Data Center
  • ITIL Professional Certification
  • Ability to clearly communicate sophisticated technical specifications to clients and implementation teams
  • Demonstrated hands on experience working with IT Hardware ( Tier 1 ) and Data Center specific trade tools

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Hands on experience working in a 24x7x365 high availability data center
  • DCCA or other Industry Recognized Data Center Certification
  • Previous experience developing or maintaining team SharePoint sites
  • Demonstrated administrative capacity to translate current and new business requirements into operational process
  • Familiarity with ITIL V3 & Change Management principles
  • Experience collaborating with internal groups and business units to meet data center support requirements and deliver business value
