We are currently seeking to hire a Service Delivery Operator to join our team in Clonskeagh, Dublin, to be part of our next generation of commerce infrastructure, services and analytics to support continued growth and customer delight.

Job Responsibilities:

As the lead technical writer for Fiserv’s Developer platform (and our first technical writer team hire), you’ll be defining and setting up the standards, tools and frameworks that make our clients experience of discovering, understanding, and integrating with our products as easy and engaging as is possible.

You’ll establish the processes for internal teams (API Product managers & architects) to contribute documentation towards API and SDK products which are published on our documentation portal.

It will be your responsibility to critically assess the functionality of our APIs and recommend changes which make our developers jobs and integrations easier and more productive. You’ll also be expected to write some code and be comfortable dealing with complex technical documentation and source code. You should have experience setting up docs-as-code tools and frameworks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up the technical writing team
  • Taking ownership of the content on the documentation portal (https://docs.fiserv.com/)
  • Setting up docs-as-code processes and tools to automate review, deployment, and re-usable components
  • Writing API/SDK documentation for developers including reference documentation and developer guides. The documentation must be accurate and must clearly convey complex processes
  • Review documentation written by API designers, architects, developers, and product managers and recommend improvements and improve them to prepare the documents for publication.
  • Create demo code samples and additional assets where you feel it would benefit the developer’s integration.
  • Be comfortable developing documentation in various mediums, including workflows, process schematics, architectural diagrams, instructional videos, developer consoles to make integration easier.
  • Support the developer engagement team in responding to developers queries and creating documents which answer questions asked by our customers. These documents can be in the form of web pages, API documentation or whatever else is relevant.
  • Collate feedback gathered from customers to feedback to our design and development team’s product increments that can be included in future versions of our products.
  • You should also work with the developer platform team to support in the creation of product pages and improving the user experience on the website.
  • Writing clear, compelling copy for various mediums (e.g. ads, blog posts, newsletters, product pages)
  • Conducting thorough research and interviews.
  • Working with the go-to-market and developer engagement team to build marketing projects and campaigns.

Job Requirements

  • You have an appetite to learn, challenge and be proactive
  • You may have previously developed software products either as a developer or as an architect
  • You have excellent communication and networking skills
  • You have excellent self-organising skills
  • You have strong knowledge of APIs and modern web technologies
  • You have excellent technical writing skills for customer facing documentation
  • You have experience with markdown, git, REST APIs, JavaScript, HTML, Swagger/OAS
  • You have prior experience with docs-as-code
