Purpose of Role:

  • Completing periodic reviews on AIBMS high risk merchants to ensure they are compliant with Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF) legislation.
  • Completing periodic reviews for AIBMS low or medium risk AML merchants generated from trigger events.


  • Complete Customer Due Diligence and AML checks for AIBMS merchants and prospective merchants, in accordance with internal AML policy and procedures and regulatory obligations.
  • Correctly identify beneficial owners of AIBMS merchants.
  • Complete AML screening to identify potential Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), both merchants and beneficial owners.
  • Ensuring AML reviews are logged and tracked at every stage of the process in a proficient manner.
  • Data Record Management in the form of archiving completed reviews from the process.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, partners and customers to obtain information or clarify information already received.
  • Ensuring checks are conducted within the timeframes in accordance with procedures.
  • Completion of investigation and a resolution of sanctions screening alerts as required by compliance management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with AML/KYC requirements and prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills – ability to index, organise and archive documents (paper and electronic) in a structured fashion within aggressive timeframes.
  • Fastidious attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and explain process requirements and communicate this information accordingly.
  • Strong communicator and comfortable enforcing compliance with strict guidelines.
  • Strong analytical abilities on documenting and reporting on a variety of levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with tools such as Experian preferred.
