What does a great Java Support Engineer do?
We are looking for a passionate Java Support Engineer to join our Rapid Response delivery team. You will have an opportunity to work in a critical support role in Fiserv payments organization, supporting multiple applications in Java technologies. You will be diagnosing and fixing critical issues with our high-volume transaction processing applications, products, and platforms. Using product knowledge, subject matter expertise and technical skills, you will provide the highest level of service to resolve the client/customer's issues. What you will do:
As a team member, you will support Person to Person products that include Zelle and TransferNow. You will help to find solutions to problems, correct code bugs, analyze why a product is not working as designed, and deploy fixes that restore service and participate in on-call rotation. The products you will help build are responsible for supporting millions of active users, billions of financial transactions a year, and moving trillions of dollars between people, merchants, service providers, and financial institutions. You will work in close collaboration with your delivery team, scrum master, product owner, architect and business systems analyst – and you will have ample opportunity to display a self-motivated positive attitude, work exceptionally well in an Agile team environment, and learn new technologies.
What you will need to have -
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience with supporting critical web based applications at large organizations
3 to 10 years of hands-on Full Stack experience in design, implement, deploy, and support web-based applications and web services.
Strong background in Object Oriented design and development and a demonstrated ability to embrace and integrate new technologies and concepts into existing systems.
Excellent programming skills with Java/J2EE tech stack and front-end UI technologies like Angular, JSP, JSF, HTML, JavaScript.
Strong database experience with Oracle, SQL Queries, PL/SQL, and Stored Procedures.
Handle on Linux / Unix Commands to analyze and review logs on Linux / Unix Servers.
What would be great to have -
Financial services industry experience
Experience with analytics and performance monitoring.
Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
Experience into Agile -scrum software development
Some experience or knowledge with Project Management Tool: JIRA, VersionOne and SCM/Tools: Git, Source tree, Github, SVN
Knowledge of application server - WebLogic or WebSphere and OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities
