Associate Experience: Hear from Veterans of the Armed Services
Fiserv, a Fortune 500 company, provides financial technology services to many of the world’s financial institutions. The Services Manager position resides within Digital Channels, one of Fiserv’s fastest growing business units. The Services Manager is responsible for helping ensure the availability and performance of the online banking web sites and mobile applications we host for many of the banks and credit unions in the US. They are responsible for a variety of roles, all centered around continuous proactive analysis to determine system needs, laying out a plan to address those needs, and executing. This includes areas such capacity planning, renewal of SSL certificates, the remediation of compliance findings, incident trend analysis, and others. This individual will work in a fast-paced environment, on a team of similarly skilled professionals, and collaborating with other groups such as development teams, operations teams, and senior leadership.
Part techie, part analyst, and part project manager, this role is about using tools to gather critical information, determining what action is needed, and working with others to execute on that action plan. A successful candidate will be comfortable working with other teams and building strong relationships to ensure mutual success.
Essential Job Duties:
Use existing tools and processes to understand system load, use sales forecasts to anticipate user growth, and analyze application performance testing result to determine future system capacity needs. Use reports to identify SSL and other certificates that need renewal. Work with various stakeholders to identify the applicable renewal process and work with the appropriate teams to ensure updated certificates are deployed. Review lists of compliance findings and work with responsible parties to get them addressed. Perform various kinds of analysis such as analysis of system alerts to determine the systems that alert the most or the most frequently occurring kind of system alert. This role requires occasional after-hours availability to oversee changes during maintenance windows such as the deployment of renewed certificates.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer System Engineering, and/or relevant equivalent work experience.
Work Related Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or System Support
- 2+ years of experience in Performance and Capacity Planning
- 2+ years of experience in Monitoring and System Management Tools
- Experience in supporting Windows Databases.
- Experience in managing and supporting enterprise distributed software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with new people and building relationships
- Understanding of SSL certificates, CSRs, trust chains, etc.
- Experience querying databases such as SQL
- Experience with Splunk a plus
- Familiarity with standard web servers (IIS)
- Familiarity with server OS – i.e. Windows and Linux
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented, organized, thorough, and self-driven
